My concept project on Yellowstone was focused on creating a visually appealing layout that showcases the park's natural beauty. I included stunning photographs, a custom logo, and a publication spread that explores the park's fascinating history and ecosystem. The goal was to inspire viewers to visit Yellowstone and experience its wonders firsthand.
As I was designing the front and back covers for the book, I wanted to create a unique and eye-catching design. I decided to use duotones to create a cool vintage effect on the cover photo. By printing the image using two different colors, I was able to achieve the desired result. For the back cover, I added a slogan and burned the logo into the wood, giving it a unique and rustic appearance like a cattle brand. This design element added an extra layer of interest and helped the book stand out on a crowded shelf.
When it came to designing the interior layouts, I wanted to create a cohesive and visually interesting design that would also improve the legibility of the body copy. To achieve this, I decided to use gradient backgrounds that incorporated colors from the color palette. By using gradients, I was able to create an interesting visual effect that added depth and dimension to the page while also helping to draw the reader's eye to the text. Furthermore, using the colors from the palette in the gradient backgrounds helped to tie the design together and create a cohesive look throughout the book. This design element not only made the book visually appealing but also helped to improve the overall reading experience.
The icons used in the Yellowstone infographic layout are simple yet effective in conveying information about the park's activities, wildlife, and culture. They are designed in a consistent style, using a limited color palette, making it easy for viewers to quickly understand the information presented. The icons capture the essence of Yellowstone, providing a clear and concise representation of the park's unique elements.
